HiQ and MTM improve digital library for accessible reading

The Swedish Agency for Accessible Media (MTM) digital library, Legimus, needs to be rebuilt to create a better user experience. HiQ gets the assignment, via Frontwalker as a partner, to manage the entire journey from the user's perspective to the final web.

"We are extremely proud to be entrusted with delivering on this important assignment and to improve the experience for people with the help of new digital solutions. We have built a good collaboration with MTM, delivering a platform that we jointly build on for the future," says Åsa Melvanius, Head of Region South at HiQ.

The assignment includes MTM and HiQ jointly running a significant development project around the website Legimus.se, to create even better reading experiences for users. The design will be refined and simplified to make it faster to find and get started with reading.

The new version of Legimus.se is live, and the improvement work continues during the year. Among other things, it needs to be simplified for users to make personal choices that change which search results are displayed and how the website looks.

Accessibility, with the requirements of WCAG AA 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) as an essential part, has been in focus throughout the development process. The work has included developing updated advanced features such as lists of favorites, bookshelf, and detailed search to add user value. The response during the test period, where users have had the opportunity to try the new version, has been positive. As a next step, the new website was launched to all users.
